What’s in my shower?
You might think this is sponsored by Saltair and girl, I wish!
If I can count on a video to totally derail productivity, it’s a “what’s in my bag?” moment. It’s just the right amount of personal details meshed with silly pairings. Your perfectly-kept planner next to a candy wrapper? Yes. A gorgeous supplement case hanging out with loose hair ties and crumpled receipts? Give it to me.

IYKYK, the only “What’s in my bag?” that I’m watching this week.
I’m thinking of today’s post as a distant cousin. Not quite as interesting as what’s actually lurking in my bag, but this line-up does just as much to earn its place as the nonsensical smorgasbord cohabitating in my purse. Here’s a look at the skin and body care earning its keep in my shower!
Face Reality cleansers
Call it crazy but I wash my face every time I shower over here and like to have options. All of my cleansers, whether they live in the shower or on the sink, are on the gentler side.
Ultra Gentle Gel Cleanser – the one I usually reach for during an AM shower. It foams up nicely without stripping the skin, and I like using a gel cleanser like this ahead of my morning skincare.
Barrier Balance Creamy Cleanser – I love this one when I’m showering at night and removing makeup. Also very gentle, with calming ingredients that soothe my skin after a long day of wearing makeup (and/or sweating through it).
Antioxidant Scrub – I favor a gentle mechanical exfoliation 1-2 times/week, and this is my pick. It has licorice root extract to help brighten the skin, micro cellulose beads that gently buff away the dead stuff, and green tea to serve as a soothing antioxidant. I actually think this may be one of my top 5 cleansers.
The body care of it all …
Soft Services Buffing Bar – Erika put me on to this one. For 20ish years, the KP on my arms has really bummed me out. My dermatologist once told me it would likely clear in my 20s or 30s and, well, we’ve got three years before I enter a new decade and prove that hypothesis totally wrong. I’m really just trying to manage the situation, and the Buffing Bar is a big help. It’s definitely a little on the abrasive side (at least for me) so I limit use to once a week.
Naturium ‘The Smoother’ Glycolic Acid Body Wash – I’ve waxed poetic about Naturium products in the past. On days I’m not using the bar, this is definitely one of my budget-friendly MVPs. It has a nice blend of AHAs to simultaneously exfoliate and hydrate the KP zones, which keeps the irritation and itchiness of it all at bay.
Saltair Serum Body Wash – consider this your warning that Saltair’s Santal Bloom scent is THAT girl, I cannot get enough. Saltair has generously gifted me products in the past but little did they know I was already a big, big fan. They’ve cracked the code with their serum body wash because it has a gel texture, but feels as hydrating as the Bioderma shower oil I also love.
Saltair Multi-lipid Body Butter – it does not matter how late/early I’m showering, if I’m delirious with a fever, etc., I am always - always - moisturizing my skin post-shower. Body butters can be tricky because they are almost always thiiiiicccccc. Except for (you guessed it) Saltair’s. It’s lightweight but insanely hydrating, and never greasy. And my trick is, keep your body moisturizers in. the. shower! It’s basically habit stacking, and our skin and body care loooves to be applied to damp skin when possible.
Saltair Body Oil – OK, fine, last one! I live-laugh-love a body oil all year-round but especially in the humid hell that is a Kansas City summer. An absolute pro move (aside from keeping it in the shower)? Mix the body oil with the body butter.
Fur Silk Scrub – you didn’t think we’d forget to scrub the body, right? Enter Fur. I’ve tried a few Fur products and stan them all, but this scrub has been a repeat purchase. It’s really great for any pre-wax prep, but I also always use the night before a sunless tan moment.
Bioderma Shower Oil *not pictured but literally never forgotten – of course the day I snapped a pic of my shower line-up was the same day I needed to restock. The Bioderma shower oil is as OG as it gets in this line-up, she’s been a family member for 5-6 years at this point? And goes with me on every trip … trust and believe you’ll want her along when you don’t know what kind of water you’ll be dealing with. I don’t say this lightly, this is the best product to shave your legs with.
I love toiletries so much and am actually shocked/impressed with how minimal(ish) my current shower situation is. If you’ve got body care products you swear by, please drop links in the comments, and maybe we can do another round-up?! I’m also traveling in a few weeks and making a mental note to do a proper “what in my toiletries bag?” 😀
